The Woodland Healthcare Foundation hosted a Dedication Ceremony on Jan. 15, 2009 to dedicate the newly remodeled Emer¬gency Department and to thank the donors who gave $1.5 M toward the “When Every Second Counts” capital campaign. More than 180 people, comprised of community donors, local dignitaries, physicians and employees and board members attended the event. Music, food and drinks were abound, while speeches were made by key leaders, followed by tours of the Emergency Room. Major donors contributing to the campaign, included The Rumsey Community Fund, The George and Lena Valente Foundation, Ray & Jane Shurtz and the Woodland Clinic Medical Group.

Much needed facility improvements and investment in advanced medical technology to support patient care be¬gan two years ago. The second phase of the renovations were completed days before the dedication Ceremony, including new patient reception and registration areas.

We have made advancements in the quality of our medical equipment, upgrades to our information systems and have completed several construction and building projects in Woodland and in Davis. encompasses all of these aspects -- but also involves one more crucial part – the involvement of community members, physicians and employees,” said Kevin Vaziri, President of Woodland Healthcare.
“We want to thank the nearly 400 donors for their generosity, which has allowed us to improve the care provided to thousands of emergency care patients,” added Mark Engstrom, Campaign Chairman and Trustee of the Woodland Healthcare Foundation.
