2011 Annual Dinner


 

FOUNDATION HONORS THE WOODLAND CLINIC MEDICAL GROUP


On March 18, the Woodland Healthcare Foundation celebrated our 42nd Annual Dinner event. As the lights were dimmed at the Woodland Community and Senior Center, the location was transformed into an elegant gala, as the Foundation proudly honored the Woodland Clinic Medical Group for their 100 years of service to our community.

This crucial fundraising event proved to be an overwhelming success, as it was attended by more than 400 individuals, business representatives and Woodland Healthcare physicians and staff; and raised a net profit of almost $40,000.

Guests enjoyed live music, appetizers and a silent auction, followed by a gourmet dinner provided by Culinary Specialists at the B&L. Foundation Trustees Tim Bernard, DPM and Mark Engstrom were the evening’s live auctioneers. Together, with the generous audience, the live auction raised $14,225 in less than 45 minutes.

As dessert was served, Cleve Baker, MD and Carol Kimball, MD took the stage with a touching tribute to the Medical Group – walking the crowd through the group’s history, present state and its future. In addition, guests viewed a display of historical Woodland Clinic medical equipment courtesy of the Gibson House Mansion.

The evening concluded with the winning raffle ticket being drawn for the $2,500 “Gift of Travel”. Gail Schwarzgruber was in the audience and announced as the lucky winner. Gail purchased her ticket from volunteer Annual Dinner committee member, Anne Engstrom. All proceeds from the 42nd Annual Dinner will support necessary programs and services at Woodland Healthcare.
